HELEN COCHRANE : Equine and animal artist.
I started ‘Art Classes’ in May 2018. With a love of horses and all wildlife, I am thrilled to be learning techniques in painting these beautiful creatures. Working with acrylic paint on canvas I’ve also used acrylic paint with oil pastels on some of my earlier works. Living in the Northern Rivers area of NSW on and off for the last 40 years I have also travelled to America and Africa on horse riding safaris. As a keen amateur wildlife photographer, I’ve been pleased to capture some of these wonderful animals in print. Now living in The Courthouse Hotel after being flooded out of rented premises in Tumbulgum in 2017 I came across artist Andy Reimanis, my art tutor, in the Caldera Wildscapes Gallery which is upstairs, in the hotel. I love the challenge of a commission and welcome them wholeheartedly. Prices on request. PS I like to paint more than one picture at a time so as I don't get fixated and miss important details.
